RETURNS POLICY

We usually only receive compliments, but in the unlikely event that you are unhappy with your product, please follow these instructions to return/receive a new product:

Simply email Customer Service with the following:

  1. Your order number
  2. What you would like to return
  3. Why you want to return it
  4. A photo that clearly shows the fault or damage

Once we have received this email we will organise a replacement or refund for you if the order meets our return policy below. You may have to return the product back to us. Please note, we do not cover return shipping.

WHAT CAN BE RETURNED

Only items that are faulty/damaged or have a faulty print may be returned. 
No returns are accepted after 14 days of receipt of purchase. 

We do not refund or exchange for the following:

  • change of mind
  • errors in approved proofs
  • stock delays. We do not hold stock of all the apparel options we have on our site, and order them from our suppliers once orders are confirmed. Occasionally an item you have ordered on our site, will be out of stock with our supplier. This is out of our control. We will always let you know the next business day after your order and will either give you alternatives, or can fully refund for any out of stock items.
  • courier delivery timeframes. We cannot take responsibility for delays in courier delivery, as this is out of our hands. Please order well before you need your items.
  • the wrong garment size. As all items are custom printed to order and we don't hold stock, we can't accept returns or exchanges if the wrong size is chosen. All of the measurements are given for each product, it is up the customer to check that the size chosen is correct.
  • inferior quality, blurry or low-resolution of uploaded images.
  • colour variation from screen to printed product. Colour variation is inherent in the design process, and it is impossible to match colours from computer screens to apparel printing, as every screen and every apparel item is different. Colours on screen are made up from light, so neon and very bright colours in particular will not look like this when printed. This applies to both the garment colour and the printing. 
  • Due to the production process, colours, position, size & scale are indicative only. If you require your design to be a specific colour, size or location you must put a note in with your order. We print at 100% size in most cases. We do resize the designs in proportion to the size of the top for very small or very large sizes. These measurements you see on our online designer are the same whether you have chosen an XS top or a 3XL, which of course would mean if we stuck to those measurements, the designs would be too big on an XS and too small on a 3XL. We also sometimes adjust the positioning of the design to what most people want if we think it might have been accidentally positioned wrong, eg we centre designs that are slightly off centre. If you have specific size or location requirements we are totally happy to print them as you want them, but you MUST notify us by putting a note on your order.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

We know you’ll be excited to wear your new gear but can you please do us a favour?

  • Make sure you wash it before wearing - cold wash, and inside out.
  • If you want it to last, don’t be tempted to tumble dry, or iron the print. At least we didn’t say hand wash though right? No one has time for that. 
  • We also don't recommend using Earthwise or Ecostore detergent as they can cause print fading and we want your gear to look sharp for as long as poss 👌

Our returns policy is designed to comply with the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986. Please read the information below to understand how returns, refunds, and exchanges work when you shop with us.

Change of Mind Returns

We understand that sometimes you might change your mind. If you’d like to return an item for this reason, we offer a 14-day return window from the date your order is delivered.

To be eligible for a change-of-mind return:

  • The item must be unusedunworn, and in its original condition, with all tags and packaging intact.
  • You’ll need to provide proof of purchase, such as your order confirmation or receipt.
  • Return shipping costs for change-of-mind returns are your responsibility. We recommend using a tracked service.
     

Please note: We do not offer refunds or exchanges for items that:

  • Have been worn, washed, damaged, or altered.
  • Are not returned in original packaging or are missing tags.
  • Were purchased as final sale or clearance, unless the item is faulty.

Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

Under the Consumer Guarantees Act, you are entitled to a refund, repair, or replacement if the item:

  • Is faulty or damaged through no fault of your own,
  • Is significantly different from its description,
  • Doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do.
     

If your item arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us at info@esf.nz within 7 days of delivery. Include:

  • Your order number
  • Photos of the fault/damage
  • A description of the issue
     

We’ll assess the claim and, if valid, offer a replacement, repair, or full refund, including return shipping costs.

How to Return an Item

To initiate a return, please contact us at info@esf.nz with your order number, receipt, and a brief explanation of the reason for your return.

Our team will respond with return instructions and the appropriate return address.

When returning your item:

  1. Pack the item securely in its original condition, including all packaging and tags.
  2. Send the parcel using a tracked courier service, and provide us with the tracking number once shipped. Please note: Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
     

Once we receive your return, our team will inspect the items to ensure they meet our return criteria. If approved, your refund will be processed via your original payment method.

Refunds

Refunds will be issued to your original payment method once your return is received and inspected. Please note: Original shipping costs are non-refundable.

Please allow up to 5–10 business days for your refund to be processed.

You will receive a confirmation email once the refund is complete.

Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges. If you’d like a different size or product, please return the original item for a refund and place a new order.
